The 31st episode of the second season of "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story," a new TV anime based on the popular manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki, titled "Arrival in Kyoto," will be broadcast on Fuji TV's late-night anime slot "Noitamina" and elsewhere from November 14th.
After arriving in Kyoto, Kenshin and Misao are greeted by Misao's foster father, Kashiwazaki Nenmi, in front of the restaurant Aoiya. Kenshin is surprised when the old man immediately recognizes Kenshin as Natsutsusai, but his true identity is that of a former member of the Oniwabanshu secret police force. Kenshin asks the old man to help him find the person. Meanwhile, Kaoru and Yahiko, who have also arrived in Kyoto, see Sojiro in the streets of Kyoto.
"Rurouni Kenshin" is a popular manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 1994 to 1999. The story follows Himura Kenshin, who was feared as a Battousai assassin during the late Edo period, as he seeks a way of life in a new era after the Meiji Restoration as a wanderer who has sworn not to kill again. The new chapter, "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story Hokkaido Arc," has been serialized in the monthly manga magazine Jump SQ. (Square) since 2017. The new anime will be fully supervised by the original author Watsuki, from character design to the scenario, and will reconstruct the original work from the first episode onwards. The first season aired from July to December 2023.
