"Muroi Shinji: The Unconquerable" (directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro), the first new movie in the "Bayside Shakedown" series in about 12 years, is the second of a two-part series following "Muroi Shinji: The Unconquerable" (directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro), starring Toshiro Yanagiba, which is currently in theaters. It has been decided that "Muroi Shinji: The Unconquerable" will be screened in advance for three days on November 8th, 9th, and 10th at 381 theaters nationwide where "Muroi Shinji: The Unconquerable" is currently being shown.
The protagonist of the two-part series "Muroi Shinji: The Unconquerable" and "Muroi Shinji: The Unconquerable" is Muroi Shinji, played by Yanagiba. As time passes, Muroi resigns from the police force and lives peacefully with young boys, wanting to "support the families of the victims and perpetrators of crimes." However, he becomes the first person to discover a body that appears to have been murdered. The body turns out to be the culprit of the Rainbow Bridge incident, which Muroi was once in charge of as deputy chief of the investigation headquarters... that's the story.
"Muroi Shinji: The Unconquerable" was released on October 11th and topped the weekend audience numbers for two consecutive weeks (October 11th-13th and October 18th-20th, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha). In the 13 days since its release on the 23rd, it has attracted over 690,000 viewers and grossed over 960 million yen.
To commemorate the success of the film, it has been decided that "Bayside Shakedown THE LAST TV: The Salaryman Detective and the Last Difficult Case," which aired on September 1st, 2012, will be broadcast on terrestrial television. The producer's cut version will be broadcast on Fuji TV at 7pm on November 10th. In addition, the "uncut complete version" of the same film will be broadcast on BS Fuji at 7pm on November 16th. As previously reported, the Saturday Premium slot starting at 9pm on November 16th will also feature the film "Bayside Shakedown THE FINAL: A New Hope" (2012).
