It has been announced that "I'm the Evil Lord of an Interstellar Nation!", a light novel born from the novel submission site "Let's Become a Novelist", will be made into a TV anime and will air in the late-night anime slot "ANiMAZiNG!!!" on ABC TV and TV Asahi from April 2025. It will be directed by Yanagisawa Tetsuya and produced by Quad.
Hanae Natsuki will play the protagonist Liam Serra Banfield, with Ueda Reina as Amagi and Koyasu Takehito as the guide. The anime features robots, and Yamane Masahiro, Kotobuki Tsukasa, Moriki Yasuyasu and Akagi Ichima will be involved in the mecha design.
The story is about Liam, a reincarnated man born into an earl's family that rules the outskirts of the interstellar nation of the Algrand Empire, who became head of the family at a young age. He reflects on his past life, in which he was constantly robbed because of his kindness, and decides to become an "evil lord" who takes from the people and oppresses them, but for some reason the people are grateful to him and his popularity continues to rise... A light novel has been published by Overlap Bunko (Overlap), and the comic adaptation has also become popular. The series has sold over 900,000 copies in total.
