It has been revealed that "Eden of The East," a popular anime that aired on Fuji TV's "Noitamina" anime block in 2009, will be adapted into a stage play. It will be performed in Tokyo in April and May of 2027.
"Eden of The East" is the first original anime from "Noitamina."Kenji Kamiyama, known for anime such as "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex," directed the series, wrote the original story and screenplay, and Chica Umino, the manga artist behind "Honey and Clover" and "March Comes in Like a Lion," designed the characters. It was produced by Production IG. The story depicts 11 days in the lives of a boy and a girl, set three months after a strange terrorist incident that resulted in no casualties.
Director Kamiyama commented, "' Eden of The East' was a story about a boy and a girl born across the Showa and Heisei eras, a story that was only told for a limited time. Their adventure, in which they challenged the atmosphere of 'that' era, is now being revived on the stage of the Reiwa era, transcending time. I am simply overwhelmed with gratitude!"
Umino said, "I love ' Eden of The East.' When I heard it was going to be made into a stage play, I was excited to see how that story would be portrayed on stage... I'm happy that the day will come again when Takizawa and Saki will be running around."
Further details about the stage production will be announced later.
