"Nagatan to Ao to - Ichika no Ryōrichō - 2," a drama series currently airing and streaming on WOWOW, stars actress Mugi Kadowaki and co-stars Ryuto Sakuma Sakuma of the popular group "ACEes." Ahead of the sixth episode, which will air and stream on March 27, a digest reviewing the first half of the story and a video highlighting the second half have been released.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Yuki Isoya (Kodansha). Set in Kyoto shortly after the war, it is a gourmet love story that begins when Ichika Kuwanoki, the protagonist chef played by Kadowaki, enters into a political marriage with Shu Yamaguchi, the third son of a long-established hotel owner in Osaka, played by Sakuma, in order to save her family's struggling restaurant, "Kuwanoki". In this sequel, a "new family" arrives for the couple, and with the arrival of Sakae (Toranosuke Kobayashi), the second son of the Yamaguchi family and Shu's older brother, "Kuwanoki," which had just begun to overcome its financial difficulties, faces another trial.
In episode 5, Ichika (Kadowaki) visits Shu (Sakuma), who is undergoing a six-month practical training program at a restaurant in Tokyo in preparation for opening Kuwanoki's second branch, and the episode depicts how the bond between the two becomes even stronger.
In episode 6, "The Tarte Tatin of Departure," airing and streaming on the 27th, Shu returns from Tokyo after completing his six-month training, but his older brother, En (Shiraishi Shunya), who is troubled by his relationship with his wife, Suzune (Rinka Kumada), visits "Kuwanoki." After hearing En's story, Ichika's mother, Aiko (Tokoshima Yoshiko), advises him that he should set Suzune free... Meanwhile, a change of heart begins to show in Sakae, who had been neglecting his wife, Shoko (Tsunematsu Yuri). As the opening of the second "Kuwanoki" store approaches, the circumstances surrounding Ichika, the three brothers, and the stories of each of their spouses begin to unfold.
