It was revealed on November 18th that Koichi Domoto of "DOMOTO"That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime )," "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Blue Sea" (directed by Yasuhito Kikuchi, scheduled for release on February 27th, 2026). While Domoto has previously appeared as a voice actor in TV anime, this will be his first time as a voice actor in an anime film. He will play Zodon, an original character for the film who holds an important key to the story.
Zodon, played by Domoto, is a minister in the underwater country of Kaien, where the story takes place, and an important character who eventually becomes involved with Rimuru and his friends. Domoto commented, "I'm happy to have been given the opportunity to play the role of Zodon, which is something I've never played before. I also had a lot of fun doing the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. I'm honored to be able to take part in ' That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime' series, so I hope that many people will be excited to watch it. Look forward to it!"
It was also announced that Saori Onishi and Koji Yusa will voice original characters for the film. Onishi will play Yura, a shrine maiden who prays to the water dragon in the Kingdom of Kaien, and Yusa will play Jeice, the prime minister of the Kingdom of Kaien.
The second key visual, featuring all the characters gathered together with the awakened Water Dragon, has been released, along with the official trailer. The trailer shows Rimuru and his companions heading out to sea to confront a conspiracy unfolding in the underwater kingdom of Kaien, which is being targeted by someone. Jeice, Zodon, and Yura also appear. It has also been announced that singer TRUE will be performing the theme song, "Utopia."
In the second movie, Rimuru and his friends are invited by Heavenly Empress Hermesia of the great elven nation and sorcerous dynasty Sarion to visit her resort island, where a new incident unfolds across the endless blue sea.
"That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" is a popular light novel by Fuse, posted on the novel submission website "Shosetsuka ni Naro." It depicts a modern-day office worker who is reincarnated into another world and becomes successful. The manga adaptation, written by Yasuki Kawakami, is currently being serialized in "Monthly Shonen Sirius" (Kodansha).
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2018 to March 2019, the first part of the second season from January to March 2021, the second part from July to September 2021, and the third season from April to September 2024. A completely new movie version, " That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime as a Slime the Movie: Guren no Kizuna-hen," with a story originally conceived by Fuse, was released in November 2022. It has also been announced that a fourth season of the TV anime will be produced.
