The 18th episode of the completely new anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi's hit manga "Ranma 1/2," entitled "The Resurrection of Evil," will be broadcast on Nippon Television late at night on November 8th. The 18th episode will see the first appearance of Happosai, the master of Soun Tendo and Saotome Genma. Voice actor Kazuhiko Inoue will play Happosai.
One day, Soun and Genma's master, Happosai, appears and offers to train Ranma as the successor to the original indiscriminate fighting style. Ranma tries to defeat Happosai, who acts as he pleases, but is no match for his overwhelming strength and is told to "go and train as a warrior" and is banned from the Tendo household. Ranma devises a secret plan to get revenge, but something begins to change in Happosai's behavior.
"Ranma ½" was serialized in the manga magazine "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) from 1987 to 1996 by Takahashi, who is also known for "Urusei Yatsura" and "Maison Ikkoku." The series depicts the hectic daily life of high school martial artist Ranma Saotome, who turns into a woman when splashed with water, and his fiancee Akane Akane Tendo. While training in the indiscriminate fighting style with his father, Genma, Ranma, while training in the Chinese Jusenkyo, develops a unique condition that causes him to turn into a woman when splashed with water and revert to a man when splashed with hot water. Upon returning to Japan, Ranma and his son end up staying with Genma's best friend, Soun Tendo, and by chance, he becomes engaged to Soun's daughter, Akane.
The series was adapted into a TV anime series that aired from 1989 to 1992, and this marks the first time it has been adapted into a TV anime series in approximately 32 years. The first season aired on Nippon Television from October to December 2024. The second season will air on the same station every Saturday at 12:55 a.m.
