A stage greeting to commemorate the release of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans: Urdr Hunt - The Trail of a Little Challenger," a special edition of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans: Urdr Hunt," which was released in theaters as part of the 10th anniversary project for the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans," was held at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on November 5th. Also screening at the same time was a new short film from "Iron-Blooded Orphans," "Intermission Wedge."Yuichiro Umehara, who played Tekkadan's Eugene Sevenstark, Yasuaki Takumi, who played Akihiro Altland, Taishi Murata, who played Norba Shino, and Mutsumi Tamura, who played Ride Mass, appeared on stage to talk about their thoughts on the new work.
"Intermission" is a story that takes place between the first and second seasons. Umehara said, "Watching it knowing the ending made me sad. I wish the good times had continued..." while acting. Tamura's eyes welled up as he said, "I almost cried while acting. Orphans really brings me to tears."
Murata said, "It's a short story, but it's packed into a short amount of time. It captures the excitement of Tekkadan at this time, and I thought, 'That's what I expected!'" Takumi was very satisfied, saying, "It's condensed into a short amount of time. This is it! This is it! This is it! I was delighted as a fan to receive exactly what I expected."
Many fans are looking forward to further new works. Takumi said, "I'm happy to be able to see it on the big screen like this. Personally, I hope there will be medium-length and feature-length films too, so please continue to support me!" Umehara expressed his desire for more new works, saying, "I'm happy to have been able to play Eugene once again on the 10th anniversary. To put it in words, I think the next one will happen again. I hope there will be another movie version!"
"Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans" is set approximately 300 years after the end of the great war known as the Calamity War, and depicts the battles of Mikazuki, Augus, and the Tekkadan. The first season aired from October 2015 to March 2016, and the second season from October 2016 to April 2017.
