The drama "When I Was Young, There Was a God" (Fuji TV, Thursdays at 10pm) starring actor Yukiya Kitamura and co-starring Yukie Nakama has released the synopsis and stills for the third episode, which will be broadcast on October 23rd.
The three families living in "Twilight States" gather at the home of Nagashima Shinichi (Kusakari Masao) and Satoko (Agawa Sawako) on the first floor. Ogura Ann (Nakama) confides in everyone the reason for her divorce. Wataru (Kitamura) says it's not a personal issue, but that she wants to regain her sense of self, not her mother. She tells Wataru again that she wants to get divorced. Wataru doesn't answer, and a long silence fills the room...
Satoko urges Shinichi to say something, but he makes a silly remark. As the room is filled with a peaceful atmosphere, Ann receives a call from her daughter Yuzu (Kondo Hana) saying, "I can't come home until morning."
Since Wataru and Ann don't want to spend the night alone, the group splits into men and women. Wataru and Shinichi are talking at the Ogura residence on the third floor. Wataru confesses, "I understand Ann's feelings intellectually, but I'm scared that we'll actually move towards divorce," and talks about how much Ann has cherished her family up until now. Shinichi also confides his regrets about his family.
Anto and Satoko went to Higuchi Nao (Karin Ono) and Takamura Shiho (Anna Ishii)'s room on the second floor. The four of them got into a tent and had fun.
As dawn breaks, Shinichi and Satoko invite everyone to join in on the radio exercises. Wataru reluctantly goes, but then remembers something...
The script is an original by Yoshikazu Okada. It is a home comedy about three families living in a retro apartment building, with Kitamura and Nakama playing a married couple. This is Kitamura's first lead role in a prime-time terrestrial TV drama.
