At the Bandai Spirits booth at the 63rd All Japan Model Hobby Show, a model exhibition currently being held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto Ward, Tokyo), new Gunpla products are on display. Among them, the new product that is attracting the most attention is Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX (Zeke Axe).
◇Does Hambrabi transform?
One model that has attracted particular attention is the Hambrabi Gunpla "HG 1/144 Hambrabi (GQ)." The Hambrabi is a familiar MS (Mobile Suit) from "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam," and in "GQuuuuuuX" it appeared as a transforming prototype MS developed by the Augusta Laboratory. It can transform into an MA form for long-distance travel. It was piloted by Gates Capa.
It has been announced that the Gunpla will be released in February 2026, but details such as its gimmicks have yet to be revealed. People are also curious as to whether it will have a transformation gimmick.
The "HG 1/144 Red Gundam Expansion Set," an expansion part for the red Gundam Gunpla "HG 1/144 Red Gundam," was also announced. The expansion parts consist of weapons such as bits and effect parts. It seems that it will be possible to recreate the "last shooting style" and the famous scene where Kycilia is about to be killed.
◇A hyper Gundam!
Also on display was the "HG 1/144 Sharia Custom Rick Dom (GQ)," which has been announced to be released in February 2026. Also on display was the "HG 1/144 01 Gundam," which began taking preorders on October 17th on Bandai Namco Group's shopping site, Premium Bandai, and immediately sold out.
Although it is not for sale, a diorama of a Gundam emerging from the "other side" is also on display, creating a buzz. It recreates the scene where a "hyper (giant)" Gundam fights GQuuuuuuX and GFreD.
Many of the "GQuuuuuuX" machines have been made into Gunpla models, but some have yet to be announced. While a figure of Kikeroga has been announced, a Gunpla model has yet to be announced. Some fans are looking forward to Gunpla models such as Rose of Sharon and Psycho Gundam. Will there be any more new product announcements? We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for future announcements.
