Ayame Mizusaki reveals that she "frozen her eggs" at age 30

Actress Ayame Mizusaki appeared at a press conference in Tokyo on September 30th for the drama series "Dekidemo, Dekinetokemo" (TV Tokyo, Thursday midnight 12:30), which begins on October Getsuku. She revealed that she had frozen her eggs at the age of 30.

The film deals with the theme of infertility. Mizusaki, now 36, recalls her decision at the time, saying, "I froze my eggs when I was 30, and I've been thinking about the title of the film, 'Whether I can do it or not,' ever since. At the time, I didn't want children, but I wondered if I might want them in the future, so I did it as insurance." When offered the role, she said, "I thought it was a great theme for our generation, so I made up my mind to take on the role."

The drama stars Misato Ugaki as an adult love story about a protagonist who suffers from infertility. Monono Sui (Ugaki), a 32-year-old construction company worker, is dumped by her boyfriend after discovering she is infertile, and then, when rumors spread within the company, she is forced to quit. While physically and mentally exhausted, she meets a handsome younger man, Tsukidome Mao (Yamanaka Jyutaro Yamanaka), and in an attempt to turn a blind eye to her sense of loss, she makes a "certain proposal" to Mao, whom she has just met. Mizusaki plays Katsuragawa Erika, Midori's best friend and Mao's cousin, who is a good friend and friend to both of them.

Ugaki, Yamanaka, Hina Higuchi, Uehara Yuta, Kento Shibuya, and Furuya Ryotoshi also appeared at the press conference.
