It has been announced that the short anime series "Rilakkuma," featuring the popular character Rilakkuma, will begin airing on television in April 2026. The anime adaptation was announced in October 2024, and now it has been announced that it will be broadcast on television. The anime will be produced by Production IG, the studio behind the "Ghost in the Shell" series and "Haikyu!!". Rira Ikuta, who is also active as a member of the music unit "YOASOBI," will be in charge of the theme song "stay with me."
A teaser visual featuring Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, Kiiroitori, and Chairoikoguma has been released. The official anime X account and official website have also been opened.
Rilakkuma is a popular character from San-X, and the first batch of merchandise was released in 2003. Anime such as "Rilakkuma and Kaoru" and "Rilakkuma and the Amusement Park" have also been produced.
