It has been announced that Maeya Susumu's manga "Maid-san wa Taberu Dake," which is currently being serialized on Kodansha's web manga service "Comic DAYS," will be adapted into a TV anime and will air in 2026. The series depicts the heartwarming daily life of an extraordinary maid, and it has also been announced that voice actress Kana Ichinose will play the maid Tachibana Suzume.
The story is about Suzume, who works as a maid in a British mansion, but due to a certain incident, begins a new life in a small apartment in a corner of Japan... Suzume is very interested in Japanese food, so she dashes out of the apartment and encounters all kinds of food and people.
Original author Maeya Susumu commented, "It has been decided that the series will be made into an anime! Thank you so much to all the readers and everyone involved. The series is packed with the cuteness of the sparrows that couldn't be fully expressed in the manga, so I hope we can all enjoy the broadcast together. Thank you very much!"
Ichinose said, "I read the original work for the first time during the audition, and I was soothed by Suzume's calm and ordinary daily life. Her fresh reactions to food are always so adorable...! I will do my best to portray this adorable Suzume. I hope you enjoy the relaxed and warm daily lives of the sparrows!"
A teaser visual and special PV have been released, depicting a sparrow sitting on a bench and eating a taiyaki.
