The one-on-one variety show "Released Tonight! Sand's Forbidden One-on-One Battle," in which professionals in their fields compete against each other for pride, will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturdays at 9 p.m.) on August 23rd.
This is the third installment of the one-on-one battle, hosted by the comedy duo Sandwichman, and guests in the studio will include former judoka and professional wrestler Wolf Aaron, actors Shunsuke Kazama and Haruka Fukuhara, talent Sashihara Rino, and comedy duos Time Machine No. 3 and Tokyo Hoteizon, who will all be watching the ultimate battle.
Magicians show off their tricks to each other, and the winner is the one who can figure out the other's trick. This time, the "final showdown of the Japanese magic world" will be realized. The showdown will be between Gotaishi, a talented magician who has been a Buddhist priest but has twice been crowned the champion of the Japanese magic world and has also won the TV program, and Mossan, a rising star who rose to the top of Japan in just three years of magic experience and has won numerous awards at competitions around the world. The two will compete for the throne in the "JOKER Guessing Showdown," where they must guess the JOKER from three cards.
The winner of the magic showdown will have a surprise match with legendary magician KiLa. Guest Wolf Aaron was so excited by the exchange of amazing techniques that he commented, "I was so focused I couldn't stop watching! It's been a long time since I've been so focused on a sport other than judo!" (laughs).
In addition, in the "Large Bus Drivers' One-on-One Battle," a speed and technique competition between "tourist bus" drivers will see a battle between a veteran driver (affiliated with Heisei Enterprises) who has a track record of winning as a team in a national driving skills competition, and a young driver from Toto Tourist Bus who is full of energy and is determined to "go all out!" The drivers will compete on a specially set course with a high level of skill, featuring numerous obstacles such as backing up, narrow curves, sudden stops, and going over bumps.
There will also be a "Kanji, can you read this? Showdown" between a genius kanji kid who passed the first-level Kanji Proficiency Test in fifth grade and a French man who passed the first-level Kanji Proficiency Test after becoming fascinated by Japanese culture. They will take turns asking each other kanji that they think the other person will not know, and the one who gets the most correct answers will win.
After the recording, guest Fukuhara said, "The express bus battle had a sense of speed and was really exhilarating to watch. It was so cool that it made me think, 'I want to try driving one myself!' I really love yakiniku, so if there was a one-on-one meat battle, I'd be confident enough to give it a try! (laughs).
