Former TBS announcer Miyoko Yoshikawa will make a guest appearance in the sixth episode of the drama series "Shiawase na Kekkon" (TV Asahi, Thursdays at 9 PM), which will air on August 21. This will be Yoshikawa's first time appearing in a drama.
Yoshikawa plays the role of writer Sendo Shoko. Kotaro (Sadao Abe) and Nerula (Takako Matsu) meet at an apartment they are viewing with real estate company president Nagumo (Yamauchi Keiya). Next to Shoko is Kajiwara (Toru Baba), the MC of the variety show "News Hope," on which Kotaro appears regularly, and the two appear to have a deep relationship... and so the story unfolds.
Yoshikawa commented, "It's a work starring Sadao Abe and Takako Matsu, and written by Shizuka Oishi! It's a drama that I was definitely looking forward to watching even before I received the offer. When I was unexpectedly asked to appear, I was surprised and thought, 'Is this a mistake?' But when I received the script for episode 6, I was relieved to see that there were very few lines (laughs)."
"On set, I was in awe of how hard the many staff members worked in the heat to create just one scene. We shot the same scene from various angles, so we had to repeat the same lines over and over, but it was surprisingly difficult to keep the facial expressions and tone of voice consistent. But Abe, Matsu, and Baba were perfect no matter how many times they repeated the lines. I was impressed, they're true professionals," he said, looking back on his first drama appearance.
"It's a work with unpredictable developments. My scene is one of the unexpected developments. What kind of relationship do I have with Kajiwara, the MC of 'News Hope' played by Baba? It's a short scene, but I'm sure you'll be surprised!" she said.
