It has been announced that the TV anime "Mechanical Marie", based on Akimoto Aki's manga, will be broadcast on TOKYO MX, Yomiuri TV and BS Fuji from October. It was also announced that Chiaki Kobayashi will play Noah, an assassin who targets Arthur, and Ami Koshimizu will play Marie 2, a "robot maid". The first promotional video, featuring Marie, who acts as Arthur's bodyguard and is secretly nervous that "if he finds out I'm human, my life is over...", has also been released on YouTube.
Kobayashi commented, "The story is about Marie and Arthur, who are both not good at communicating with others in different ways, but are drawn to each other, and the gags have a refreshing tempo, so it's fantastic. Although there are some dangerous characters, including an assassin, the story is generally peaceful and fun, so I think one of the charms is that people of all ages and genders can become immersed in it."
Koshimizu said, "Marie 2 is a machine, but she has a heart, so I want to cherish that aspect. I would be happy if I can make everyone who watches her smile!"
"Mechanical Marie" is a story about Marie, who, due to certain circumstances, ends up serving Arthur, a man who hates humans, as a "robot maid" and protects Arthur from assassins who attack him every day, fulfilling her duties... Nao Toyama plays Marie and Haruki Ishiya plays Arthur. Junji Nishimura is the director, and the film is produced by Zero G and Lieber.
