The 49th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on June 5th, and viewers were drawn to the words and actions of Zama ( Takumi Kitamura), Takami's (Koichi Yamadera) teacher at Tokyo Higher School of Fine Arts.
In the 49th episode, Taka finally receives a call-out letter and goes to see his mentor, Zama. Zama also once served in the military, but Japan won while he was in training, so he didn't go to the battlefield. "The only thing I know is that military training is hell. The battlefield is even more... incomparably hellish," he says.
When Taka confesses his true feelings, "I hate war," Zama says, "I can't stand to hear that, you traitor," and invites him to join him today as punishment. When Taka tells him that he has plans to meet his mother, Tomiko (Nanako Matsushima), Zama replies, "I'll treat you and your mother too."
When Zama meets Tomiko, he is surprised by her beauty and is speechless, saying, "This is...?" When Taka tells Tomiko that he is not confident that he can make it in the military, she replies, "Of course that's impossible," and Taka tells him, "I'll talk to you alone later, teacher."
After Tomiko leaves, Taku apologizes to Zama, saying, "My mother is always like that. She's selfish, and she's a genius at hurting her son... I'm sorry I'm such a terrible mother. Please forget about me." Zama then mutters, "That's not possible. Maybe one day I'll call you Taku." When Taku replies, "You can call me that now," Zama asks, "Does that mean I'm willing to be your son-in-law?"
When Takashi told Zama, "That's not okay," and "Mom...I heard she's remarried," telling him that Tomiko had married a military man for the third time, Zama regretfully said, "I wanted to drink today!"
On social media, comments included, "Yama-chan is so amazing lol. He gets his heart broken in a matter of seconds lol," "Zama-sensei falls in love at first sight and is rejected in a matter of seconds lol," "The only relief in an otherwise difficult situation," and "It's like a comedy about heartbreak."
