It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime "Puniru Is a Cute Slime," based on the Maeda-kun romantic comedy currently being serialized on the web manga site "Weekly CoroCoro Comic," a part of Shogakukan's manga magazine "CoroCoro Comic," will be broadcast on TV Tokyo affiliates every Sunday at 5:30 pm starting July 6. The first season was broadcast every Sunday at 11:45 pm, but the second season will move to a Sunday evening time slot.
The key visual for the second season has been released, depicting Puniru, Kotaro and the rest of the gang, along with the mysteriously smiling new character Jure. Jure is an artificial slime lifeform (gelloid) created by Dr. Mado, and is a character who takes pride in being a "perfect AI." It was also announced that voice actress Sumire Uesaka will be playing Jure.
Uesaka commented, "I was so happy to be able to take part in the irresistibly cute world of 'Puniru'! Jure stands out even among the interesting characters in the world of Puniru...! In many ways, there are lots of scenes that make you wonder if it can be broadcast in the evening! It's the best!" Regarding her role as Jure, she said, "Jure takes pride in being a perfect AI, and is a character that is full of confidence and is fun to play! I will do my best to express Jure's (self-proclaimed) adult charm!"
A promotional video featuring the latest footage from the second season has been released on YouTube. The video also features the opening theme "Brun-Brun" sung by Puniru, played by Yu Shinohara.
The series is a manga that depicts the exciting life of the protagonist, a boy named Kotaro, and his slime Puniru, who he created. Kotaro is at the mercy of Puniru's free-spirited behavior, who has transformed into an incredibly beautiful girl with a shape-shifting body. The series began serialization in March 2022. The first season of the TV anime aired from October to December 2024.
