77-year-old singer Akira Mita will be appearing on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m. on May 27th.
At the age of 16, his debut song "Utsukushii Juudai" became a hit, and he gained popularity for his handsome looks and beautiful singing voice. He was called one of the "Four Heavenly Kings" along with Yukio Hashi, Kazuo Funaki, and Teruhiko Saigo. At the time, he was not allowed to talk to other singers of his generation, and it wasn't until he was in his 60s that he first had a conversation with Funaki and the others.
In his 30s, he married his wife, who was 16 years younger than him, but she passed away three years ago. He spent all his time caring for her while she was ill, and ended up losing 10 kilograms. After that, he started doing housework for the first time, and revealed that he now uses the internet and artificial intelligence (AI) to help with cleaning, laundry, and cooking.
