To commemorate the 4th anniversary of the release of the animated film "Pompo the Movie Lover" (directed by Hirao Takayuki, 2021), based on the manga by Sugitani Shogo [Ningen Plamo], it has been announced that a screening will be held at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on June 4th. A stage greeting will also be held, with director Hirao Takayuki, director Imura Kenji, and producer Matsuo Ryoichiro taking to the stage.
After the event, there will be a signing session with Director Hirao for those who bring along the making-of book "Movie-loving Pompo-san Making in Nyariwood" (KADOKAWA), which was released in March. The making-of book will also be available for sale at the venue in limited quantities.
"Pompo, the Movie-loving Girl" depicts a young man who loves movies and a woman who is loved by movies finding herself through filmmaking. Pompo, a talented film producer who only works on B-grade sexy action movies, appoints his assistant, a young man who is a "movie lover," Gene, as the director... This is the story.
The film was directed by Hirao, who has worked on "GOD EATER" and "The Garden of Sinners: The Movie Chapter 5," and produced by CLAP. Actor Hiroya Shimizu voiced the main character Jean, model and actor Rinka Otani played the role of newcomer actor Natalie, and voice actress Konomi Kohara played the role of Pompo.
