It has been announced that the TV anime " Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus " series (Dengeki Bunko), will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and other stations from July 5th. The "College Student Arc" will be the first TV anime series in about seven years. The second key visual has also been released, depicting the back of Sakurajima Mai, now a college student, and a miniskirt Santa.
It was also announced that the ending theme will be "The Horizon is My Old Wound" sung by Hirokawa Uzuki, Akagi Ikumi, Himeji Sara, and Kirishima Touko. As with the ending theme "Fushigi no Karute" from the "High School Edition," the lyrics were written by Kodama Ameko and the music was composed by Kawai Hidehiro. The second PV featuring the song was also released.
The " Rascal Does Not Dream Senpai" series is a light novel written by Kamoshida Hajime and illustrated by Mizoguchi Cage. It depicts the love story between Azusagawa Sakuta, an outcast at school, and Sakurajima Mai, an upperclassman and actress. The keyword is "puberty syndrome," which occurs during adolescence. The total number of copies of the original work published is over 3 million.
The TV anime series "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai" aired from October to December 2018. The movie version of the anime series "Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl" was released in June 2019, followed by "Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out" on June 23, 2023, and "Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid" on December 1 of the same year.
