A new visual and short PV of Ryo, who appears in the TV anime " Gachiakuta ", based on the battle action manga by Kei Urana currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), have been released. The visual combines a Zanka drawn by character designer and chief animation director Satoshi Ishino with the character graffiti logo created by Hideyoshi Ando, who is in charge of the "graffiti design" of the original work. Ryo is seen skillfully holding a pair of scissors known as "The Ripper", and is accompanied by the line, "When the opponent is strong, it gets exciting, doesn't it?"
Voice actress Yumiri Hanamori said, "She easily gets close to others, but never gets close to herself. She's as elusive as a black cat. I tried to portray her, who has a dangerous and bewitching charm, while being careful not to put too much expression into her voice, while still retaining her emotions." The short PV is peppered with lines that express Rio, giving a glimpse of her sometimes playful and sometimes rational side.
"Gachiakuta" began serialization in February 2022 in "Weekly Shonen Magazine." The story is about an orphan boy named Rudo who was born in a slum where the descendants of criminals live. He makes a living using his extraordinary physical abilities, but one day he is framed for a crime he did not commit and is thrown into the "abyss" that even the people of the slums fear. The series won the Global Special Award in the comics category of the "Next Manga Awards 2022."
The anime will be broadcast on CBC TV/TBS's anime slot "Agaru Anime" from July.
