It has been announced that Ryusei Shinoyama, a player for the Kawasaki Brave Thunders of the professional basketball league B.League, will be appearing as a guest commentator on the NBA playoff broadcast program to be aired and streamed on WOWOW on May 13th and 21st.
Since joining the Toshiba Brave Thunders (now the Kawasaki Brave Thunders) in 2011, Shinoyama has been a loyal Kawasaki player and has become a symbol of the team. His position is point guard. He has also served as captain of the Japanese national basketball team and participated in the FIBA World Cup in 2019.
The playoff broadcasts will be "NBA Basketball Playoffs East Semifinals, Celtics vs. Knicks, Game 4" from 8:30 a.m. on the 13th, and "NBA Basketball Playoffs West Finals" from 9:30 a.m. on the 21st, both of which will be broadcast and streamed live on WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand.
Shinoyama commented, "I think this season's playoffs are going to be incredibly exciting. With young, dynamic teams taking the number one seeds in both conferences, it's really unclear which teams will advance, including the currently remaining lower-ranked teams, and I'm looking forward to commentating on these exciting playoffs."
He continued, "Because I'm left-handed myself, Jalen Brunson (Knicks) is a player I look up to, and Jrue Holiday (Celtics) is one of my favorite players because he can perform well. I don't know what kind of matchups we'll have in the future, but I'd like to keep an eye on both of them."
