It has been revealed that the popular manga "Beauty Pop" by Kiyoko Arai, which was serialized in the girls' manga magazine "Ciao" (Shogakukan) from 2004 to 2008, will be re-serialized for the first time in about 17 years. The new work, "Beauty Pop Returns", will begin serialization on April 27th on the general entertainment site for elementary and junior high school girls, "Ciao Plus".
In the new episode, Kiri, who has married Narumi, is visited by S.P. (Scissors Project) members Ochiai and Kei. Seeing that the two are still the same even after getting married, Kei asks Kiri why she and Narumi got married. Time then goes back to when Narumi and Ochiai are in their third year of university. Ochiai is working to restart S.P. (Scissors Project)... and so the story unfolds. The first episode will be a double feature.
"Beauty Pop" is a beauty manga set in a school. The high school that the ordinary girl, Kiri Koshiba, attends is famous for the S.P. (Scissors Project), a project where three boys make ordinary girls cute by cutting their hair and applying makeup. However, unbeknownst to the three, a girl appears who has been transformed into an exceptional beauty using magical techniques that surpass theirs... This is the story.
Ciao Plus will be releasing three volumes of the "Beauty Pop" comics for free for a limited time from April 27th to May 11th. Bloom Avenue, the official online store for Shogakukan's girls' manga, is selling merchandise from the "40th Anniversary of Arai Kiyoko's Career as an Artist Pop-Up Store and Mini Original Art Exhibition."
