56-year-old actor Seiyo Uchino will be appearing on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 pm on April 24th.
While studying at Waseda University, he enrolled in the Bungakuza Institute and set out on the path to becoming an actor. His fellow Bungakuza member was Shinobu Terashima, with whom he recently co-starred in a movie, and they are now like comrades in arms. He talks about his feelings as he turns 50 and the time he spends healing.
In March of this year, he won the 48th Japan Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the movie "Hakkenden." He talks about his feelings after receiving the award. At the awards ceremony, he was asked to escort 91-year-old senior actor Mitsuko Kusabue. They have been friends both in public and private since they co-starred on stage.
