47-year-old actor Hiroyuki Hirayama will be making his first appearance on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will air on April 22nd at 1pm.
He moved to Tokyo at the age of 20, and passed his first audition at the age of 23, and was thrown into a cast of veteran actors such as Koichi Sato and Bunta Sugawara without any acting experience. During those difficult days, he says he can never forget the words of his co-star, Nobuyo Oyama.
His hobby is pottery. He loves cooking, and it all started when he wanted to eat the food he made in dishes he made himself. After his father passed away, he called his mother from his hometown in Gifu to visit him, but she was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm and underwent surgery. He says that now he wants to be a good son to his parents.
