It has been revealed that the TV anime "Medalist," based on a figure skating manga that was also chosen as the top manga in the comics category at the "Next Manga Awards 2022," will collaborate with the 2025 World Team Trophy for Figure Skating, which will be held from April 17th to 20th. Natsumi Haruse, who plays Yutsuzoku Inori, will be making the announcements at the opening ceremony on April 17th. Character panels and photo spots from "Medalist" will be set up at the venue, and "gold medal-style cards" will be distributed as an exclusive bonus to visitors.
"Medalist" is a manga by Tsurumai Ikada that has been serialized in the manga magazine "Afternoon" (Kodansha) since 2020. The story is about a young man, Akiura Michiji, who has failed as a skater, who meets Yuzuki Inori, a girl who aspires to the world of figure skating, and aims to become a glorious medalist as both a coach and athlete.
The first season of the TV anime aired from January to March on TV Asahi's late-night anime slot "NUMAnimation." The production of the second season has also been announced.
