GENIC Atsuki Masuko:Wakatsuki Chinatsu recognized as "talented" "Why aren't you appearing on variety shows?"

Atsuki Masuko, a member of the dance and vocal group "GENIC" and also known for his role as Haku in the stage play "Spirited Away," attended the Morinaga Milk Industry's "Philadelphia Dessert 6P" new web commercial launch event held in Tokyo on March 26th, along with talent Chinatsu Wakatsuki. He showed off his natural talent and was recognized as a "talented individual" by Wakatsuki, who met him for the first time.

Masuko, who plays the CM character, toyed with the MC from the beginning of the event with her unique way of speaking. When asked about the CM shoot, she commented, "I think that when adult women are very tired, the lymph nodes in their hearts build up. I want to gently release those lymph nodes and heal them. I wanted to express that kind of healing (in the CM)." When the MC asked, "You're not really keeping up with the flow when we first meet... is that what you're like?" Masuko bowed her head and said, "That's what I'm like."

In reference to the product being marketed as "a treat dessert for adults that will satisfy cheese lovers," when asked about the moment he felt like he had become an adult, Masuko gave the unexpected answer of "When my jawline became more prominent." As the audience laughed, he commented, "I'm 25 now, but my jawline has gotten more prominent every year. On the one hand, I think I'm developing a more manly frame, but on the other hand, I feel like I'm chewing over hard times. I guess it's the benefit of years of experience..." Wakatsuki burst out laughing, saying, "It's not Karina Maruyama, is it? Why isn't she on any variety shows, even though she's so funny!"

As this was their first meeting, they were asked about their impressions of each other towards the end of the event. Masuko said, "I think she's beautiful, and her tsukkomi is also affectionate, like a real sister..." to which Wakatsuki immediately retorted, "She's not your real sister, is she?"

Wakatsuki said, "She's a really natural person and it was fun. I get the feeling that we'll be seeing more variety show appearances from her. This doesn't happen very often at these types of events, but this might be the first time in history...we've discovered a talented person."
