"The Power of Our Ancestors: The Fountain of Wisdom" is a program on NHK Educational TV (Tuesdays at 10 p.m.) that teaches us the Takashi Yanase of our ancestors. On March 25th, ahead of the NHK morning drama " Anpan " in the first half of the 2025 fiscal year, the Asadora will feature Yanase Takashi, the manga artist and picture book author who created "Anpanman."
The 112th morning Asadora"Anpan ," starring Mio Imada , which will start on March 31st, is a "story of love and courage" based on the married couple Yanase and Nobu Komatsu.
Yanase's life was a series of hardships. He was sent to fight in mainland China during the war, suffered hunger, and his younger brother was killed in battle. These wartime experiences were strongly reflected in his later works.
Unable to produce a hit manga, Yanase decided to take on a variety of jobs, including stage design, radio scriptwriting, and even hosting. He may seem like a handyman, but what did he think about it?
Eventually, he released "Anpanman" at long last, but it was met with a storm of harsh criticism. What was Yanase's wisdom in continuing to draw despite that?
