A talk event commemorating the 20th anniversary of the popular anime "Eureka Seven" was held on March 23rd at "AnimeJapan 2025," one of the world's largest anime events, held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo). Yuuko Sanpei, who played Renton Thurston, Kaori Nazuka, who played Eureka, and producer Masahiko Minami of Bones, who produced the anime, appeared and looked back on the TV anime that aired from 2005 to 2006.
Both Sanpei and Nazuka chose the scene where Renton and Eureka meet in episode 1, "Blue Monday," as a particularly memorable episode. Although they had not discussed this beforehand, they chose the same episode and were surprised, saying, "I never thought it would be the same episode!"
He said that at the time he was recording with the support of senior voice actors, and he also spoke about his feelings for the late Fujiwara Keiji, who played Holland Novak, and looked back on the event where he attempted live dubbing.
Producer Minami explained how at the beginning of the project, the words of MSB producer Aoyuki Takeda prompted him to decide to broadcast a robot anime for a year, saying, "It was a challenge." Sanpei expressed his "happiness" in being involved in a work that has been loved for so long.
It was also announced that the event "RivaCome!! x TV Anime ' Eureka Seven' 20th Anniversary Event" will be held on June 29th at Osaki Bright Core Hall (Shinagawa, Tokyo). Sanpei and Nazuka will appear and there will be a revival screening, live commentary, and a talk show. The episode for which the live commentary will be screened will be decided by a fan vote. It was also revealed that a 20th anniversary exhibition will be held.
The story of "Eureka Seven" is about Renton, who lost his heroic father Adrock, and the LFO (general term for giant humanoid robots) Nirvash and Eureka, a girl from the anti-government organization Gekkostate, who appear before him and get caught up in a battle... The TV anime aired from 2005 to 2006.
