It has been announced that a special program featuring singer-songwriter Fumiya Fujii will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW from April through next year. WOWOW On Demand will be streaming 16 programs, including past live performances, all at once.
Fujii was the lead vocalist of the popular group "Checkers" active in the 1980s, and later became a solo singer with his song "TRUE LOVE" which sold double million copies, making him one of the most representative artists in the J-POP world. To coincide with his second 47 prefecture concert tour "FUTATABI" which will run from April this year to next year, WOWOW will begin a special feature on him in April that will run for over a year.
The lineup for "Fujii Fumiya x WOWOW Special Feature -FUTATABI-" includes a special edition including a double encore of the final Fukuoka performance from Fujii's nationwide tour in 2013, which marked the 30th anniversary of his debut and the 20th anniversary of the start of his solo career, and will be broadcast on WOWOW Prime from noon on April 20th, and available to stream on WOWOW On Demand.
The 40th anniversary concert held at Nippon Budokan (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) in June last year will be broadcast on WOWOW Live from 8:00 pm on April 22nd under the title "Fujii Fumiya 40th Anniversary FINAL in Nippon Budokan," and will be available on WOWOW On Demand.
In May, they will be broadcasting and streaming the Osaka performance of "Fujii Fumiya 35th ANNIVERSARY TOUR 2018 "35 Years of Love"," which was part of the tour held in 2018 to celebrate the double anniversary of his 35th debut anniversary and 25th solo debut anniversary.
In June, they will broadcast and stream a lavish performance from the "Fujii Fumiya Concert Tour 2020-2021 "ACTION"" held in his hometown of Fukuoka in March 2021, which also featured Checkers numbers.
In July, they plan to broadcast and stream the birthday live concert "Fujii Fumiya 60th BIRTHDAY RED PARTY" that was held at Nippon Budokan on July 11, 2022, his 60th birthday.
Starting April 18th and continuing for the rest of the year, WOWOW On Demand will be streaming an archive of 16 programs, including past live performance footage.
