It has been announced that the TV anime " Gachiakuta ", based on the battle action manga by Kei Urana currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will be broadcast on the CBC TV/TBS anime slot "Agaru Anime" from July. The main cast has also been announced, with Aoi Ichikawa playing the protagonist, a boy from heaven named Rudo. The cast playing the members of the cleaning crew who defeat the "Madaraju", monsters born from garbage, will include Katsuyuki Konishi as Engine, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Zanka, and Yumiri Hanamori as Rio. It was also announced that composer Iwasaki Taku will be in charge of the music.
A teaser PV by Bones, the animation studio, was also released on YouTube. It shows a scene in which Ludo, an orphan boy who makes a living by picking up trash in heaven, is framed for a crime and thrown into the abyss, giving us a glimpse of how he overcomes adversity.
Ichikawa, who plays Ludo, commented, "When I read the original work, I was very impressed by the power of the character's eyes, and I remember being immediately drawn in. Ludo is a boy whose outbursts of anger are so intense that if you let your guard down, you feel like you'll be thrown off. I will do my best to portray him in a way that clearly conveys his bubbling anger."
Konishi, who plays Engine, a member of the cleaning company "Akuta" who discovers Rudo after he is dropped into the abyss, said, "I'm extremely excited that Gachiakuta is being made into an anime! And thankfully, I've been given the opportunity to play the role of Engine! I can't wait for everyone to see it! It's my favorite manga! I hope you'll enjoy it!!"
Matsuoka, who plays Zanka, who is appointed by Engine as Ludo's tutor, commented, "This time, I will be playing an interesting guy named Zanka. "Gachiakuta" is a manga by Urana and graphic design by Hideyoshi Ando. It began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" in February 2022. Rudo, an orphan boy born in a slum where the descendants of criminals live, makes a living by using his extraordinary physical abilities, but one day he is framed for a crime he did not commit and is thrown into the "abyss" that even the people of the slums fear. It won the Global Special Award in the comics category of the "Next Manga Awards 2022".
The anime will be directed by Fumihiko Suganuma , who has worked on "SHIROBAKO" and "THE FIRST SLAM DUNK", with series composition by Hiroshi Seko , who has worked on " Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Attack on Titan The Final Season", and character design and general animation director by Satoshi Ishino, who has worked on "Godzilla SP Singular Point". It will be produced by Bones, which has worked on "Eureka Seven" and "My Hero Academia".
