Composer Akira Senjyu, 64, and violinist Mariko Senjyu, 62, will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will air at 1:00 p.m. on March 12.
All three siblings in the Senju family are artists, with their eldest son, Hiroshi, 67, a Japanese painter. In their childhood, his brothers learned the violin first, while Mariko started when she was two and a half years old. Her talent blossomed, and Akira followed in her sister's footsteps, making her professional debut at the age of 12, and became a composer. Here, they talk about their feelings about pursuing musical paths together.
Akira, the second son, has been helping his mother since he was a child, and even now he cooks "mother's taste" dishes and serves them to his siblings. For their mother's funeral in 2013, the siblings worked together to write a song. The song will be performed in the studio with Akira on piano and Mariko on violin.
