It has been announced that a performance by Alan Menken, known as the master of Disney music, titled "Alan Menken Solo Concert 'A Whole New World of Alan Menken'" will be held at the Osaka Prefectural International Convention Center (Kita-ku, Osaka) on July 7th.
During the performance, Menken will talk about his upbringing, the secret stories behind the creation of each song, the behind-the-scenes stories of his life, and the thoughts he puts into the songs. In addition to famous Disney songs such as "Under the Sea" (The Little Mermaid), "Beauty and the Beast," and "Aladdin," he will also perform famous songs from musicals such as "Newsies," which was the first to win a Tony Award (for best original song), "Little Shop of Horrors," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," and "Sister Act."
Menken commented, "I am truly excited to be able to once again hold my solo concert, 'A Whole New World of Alan Menken.' I have a deep respect for Japanese culture and am honored to be able to perform in front of you all. I truly look forward to seeing you there and hope you will come to the concert."
Doors open at 6pm on July 7th, show starts at 7pm. Advance ticket sales will begin at 10am on February 20th. S seats are 16,000 yen, A seats are 9,000 yen, U-25 seats are 2,000 yen, and SS seats are 24,000 yen.
