The Japanese teaser poster for Disney & Pixar's new animated film "Elio" (to be released in summer 2025) was released on February 19th. The poster features a sad but beautiful image of the protagonist, a lonely boy named Elio, looking up at the starry sky, dreaming of going to space.
The protagonist, Elio, is a lonely boy who loves space. He believes that he will one day be able to go to space, searching for his place in the universe. One day, his wish comes true and he is mistaken for the "leader of Earth" and transported to a space summit in space where leaders from various planets gather. The story follows Elio as he meets his space friends, forms bonds with them, finds his place in the universe, and grows as a person.
The film will be directed by Madeline Sharafian, who served as story artist on "Coco" (2017), Domee Shi, director of "Me and the Red Panda" (2022), and Adrian Molina, who wrote and co-directed "Coco."
The Japanese version of the teaser poster that has been released shows Elio longing for space, with the tagline "Beyond this starry sky - I'm sure I'm waiting for you." In addition, as a surprise from Pixar, the poster also contains a "certain thing" that appears in almost all Pixar films. There are two "certain things," and they are familiar items to Pixar fans. This is a trivia that always becomes a hot topic in Pixar films, but it is unusual for it to be featured on a poster before the main film. Enlarge the image to find it.
