It has been announced that voice actors Yasushi Bonkohara, Masaaki Mizunaka, and Hisako Kanemoto will appear in the TV anime "Danjo no Yujo wa Seiritsu Suru? (Iya, Shinai!!)," based on the light novel from Dengeki Bunko (KADOKAWA). Bonkohara will play Makishima Shinji, the only friend of the main character Natsume Yuu other than Inuzuka Hibari, a genuine playboy; Mizunaka will play Inuzuka Hibari, Hibari's handsome, eccentric older brother; and Kanemoto will play Natsume Sakura, Yuu's beautiful, but unfortunate older sister. The first promotional video, featuring the opening theme "Question, What is Love?" by "HoneyWorks feat. Hakoniwa Lily," has also been released on YouTube.
Bonkohara commented, "From the time of the audition, I wondered what kind of person would be chosen for the role, as he has some very eccentricities, and then it turned out to be me!! Ha ha ha!!! I feel that 'Danjoru' is a work in which the real emotions, for better or worse, of high school students are swirling around. What will Makishima-kun stir up there?! Stay tuned!!!!"
Mizunaka said, "It's a hectic yet dazzling coming-of-age story. As the story progressed, you could feel the subtle emotions of each character and I became more and more absorbed in the charm of the work. Hibari is very cheerful and loves Yuu so much that her mood and behavior changes at times, but she also has the right words to say at crucial times, and these contrasts are one of the charms of the character. He is full of personality, so I want to fulfill the role to the fullest!"
Kanemoto commented, "The character's delicate emotions made me feel like I was watching clear water swaying gently, or like I was looking at something beautiful. I played Sakura, who gently watches over her younger brother with a carrot, a stick, a stick and more sticks! Her strictness is filled with her feelings for everyone, so please look forward to the anime!"
The work is a light novel written by Nana Nana and illustrated by Parum. It is a youthful romantic comedy about a pair of best friends who have sworn eternal friendship, but one day end up falling in love with the other after a sudden incident. The first volume was released in January 2021, and has been gaining popularity, with immediate reprints. The comic adaptation is currently being serialized in "Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh" (same publisher).
The anime will feature Kikunosuke Toya as the protagonist Yuu Natsume and Sayumi Suzushiro as the heroine Himawari Inuzuka. It will be directed by Yohei Suzuki and produced by JCSTAFF. It will start airing in April.
