An event for the TBS Sunday Theatre drama " Mikami Sensei " (Sundays at 9pm) starring actor Tori Matsuzaka , entitled " Mikami Sensei Extracurricular Lesson 2nd Period - Learning from Behind the Scenes", was held in Tokyo on February 15th. Students from Class 2, Year 3 of Rintoku Gakuin, Yudai Toyoda who plays Miyazawa Ryo, Koki Yamashita who plays Fuyuki Ryuichiro, producer Iida Kazutaka, and director Miyazaki Yohei attended.
The fifth episode, which will air on the 16th, depicts the "High School Business Project Competition" in which Miyazawa, Fuyuki and others participate. Iida said that he told Yamashita, who plays Fuyuki, "I want to cry about Fuyuki in episode 5," and Yamashita said, "I felt pressure, but it was good pressure. I was helped by the words (which Iida told everyone) 'Keep a cool head and a hot heart.'"
Episode 5 includes a competition scene that was filmed with about 1,000 people, including extras, and a scene where Yamashita makes a presentation in front of her classmates in a classroom. She said, "It was a lot of pressure. My stomach was in knots, and I was in pain the whole time. Even on days when there was no filming, all I could think about was ' Mikami Sensei.' I was relieved when it was over, but after it was over, Iida told me, 'What Fuyuki does from now on is important.' I realized this wasn't the end."
Toyoda said, "Miyazawa (the character I play) has a pretty blunt personality, so I tried to understand that as a straightforward character. Also, the script had a lot of difficult vocabulary, and episode 5 in particular was about finance, so I studied things like funds and investments again."
The drama is an original "great reversal story of education revival" in which Takashi Mikami (played by Matsuzaka), a bureaucrat in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, who wants to change the Japanese education system, takes to the podium at a private high school and stands up to authority while guiding 18-year-old high school students living in the Reiwa era.
