"Sandwichman & Mana Ashida's Doctor-chan" (TV Asahi) is a program in which children with knowledge and talents that rival those of adults give funny lessons as "Doctor-chan" (teacher). On January 25th, the show will be titled "Special: Japanese Who Surprised the World," and the MCs, Sandwichman, will travel to the United States to investigate the Showa era pop queen, Hibari Misora.
This time, Kokoro Umedani, who won the "Record Grand Prix New Artist Award" at the end of last year, appeared on the show. Umedani, who appeared on the show as "Dr. Misora Hibari" six years ago when she was in fifth grade, introduced that Hibari had successfully performed in Los Angeles in 1950 when she was 13 years old.
The record store where Hibari stopped by during the performance is still there today. The Sandwichman duo visit the store and search for treasures related to Hibari. They find some super rare items that get Umetani very excited.
On this day, Sandwichman also investigated the "mystery of the handprint" of YOSHIKI of the rock band "X JAPAN". YOSHIKI is the first Japanese person to have his handprint and footprint engraved at the Hollywood Chinese Theater, but when he appeared on a TV show, he revealed that he forgot to dot the "i" in his name in his handprint signature. He will check on site to see if there is really a missing dot.
In addition, under the special orders of "Temple and Shrine Expert" Yuka Maruyama, we will visit the oldest Japanese temple in Los Angeles, Higashi Honganji Los Angeles Betsuin, which was founded in 1904 (Meiji 37). Once inside, we were greeted by a scene that was a little different from the typical main hall in Japan.
Actor Yo Oizumi appeared as a studio guest. He and MC Mana Ashida performed an impromptu comedy skit using souvenirs brought by Sandwich Man.
