KTV's horse racing program "Umanchu" will be broadcasting a New Year's special feature "Legendary Conversation between Jockey Yutaka Take and Former Jockey Katsumi Ando" for four consecutive weeks starting from January 25. This time, the owner of Dodeuce, who sadly retired last year, Masaaki Matsushima, will appear as a special guest.
In the interview, Take looks back on his journey with Dew Dew, who he describes as "definitely the horse at the center of my life." He also reveals his interactions with Matsushima at the time regarding Dew Dew's sudden retirement just before the Arima Kinen race.
He also talks about his fantasy of "What if Dodeuce had run in the Arima Kinen?" and his thoughts on Dodeuce's offspring, who will become breeding stallions and are expected to have a bright future. Take also reveals his true feelings about the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, which he continues to challenge, and how he is dealing with age as he enters his 50s and competes at the forefront of the sport.
Jockey Take said, "I actually hear a lot of people say, 'I had fun at Umanchu's New Year's party,' so I think to myself, 'I have to say something funny again' (laughs). It motivates me too (laughs). I'll do my best this year too. Horse racing exists because of the horse racing fans, so first of all I want to be grateful to them, and then I want to put on at least one good race to live up to their expectations."
"Umanchu New Year's Special Project: Jockey Yutaka Take x Former Jockey Katsumi Ando Legendary Discussion" will be broadcast from 1:15 a.m. on January 25, February 1, and 15. On February 8, it will be broadcast from 1:35 a.m.
