It has been revealed that Yasumoto Hiroki will be appearing as a voice actor in the second season of the new TV anime " Rurouni Kenshin : Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story , " based on the popular manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki . Yasumoto played the role of police chief Arato Ryusaku, who appeared in the 38th episode, "Misao's Determination," which aired on January 16th.
In episode 38, Saito Hajime visits the police station to meet with the captured Ten Swordsman, Sawashita Jocho. Yasumoto plays the role of the police chief, Arato Ryusaku, who greets Saito. Sagara Sanosuke, who was also waiting for Saito in the detention center, joins them, and Shishio Makoto purpose is revealed.
Yasumoto commented, "I was surprised to be involved in this work, which I know very well, in this way. It is easy to write about the Satsuma Hayato in words, but Arato is a man with his own quirks as a human being. I did my best to make sure that you could feel his growth. I hope you will enjoy it."
"Rurouni Kenshin" is a popular manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 1994 to 1999. It depicts Himura Kenshin, who was feared as the assassin Battousai during the late Edo period, as he becomes a wanderer who has sworn not to kill after the Meiji Restoration and searches for a way to live in a new era. A new chapter, "Rurouni Kenshin : Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story Hokkaido Arc", has been serialized in the monthly manga magazine "Jump SQ." (Shueisha) since 2017.
The script for the new anime is being supervised by the original author, Watsuki. The first season aired from July to December 2023. The second season is currently airing on Fuji TV's late-night anime slot "Noitamina" and elsewhere.
