It has been announced that the theatrical version of the popular anime series Mobile Police Patlabor, WXIII Mobile Police Patlabor, will be fully remastered using 4K film scanning. The WXIII Mobile Police Patlabor 4K Remaster Collection (4K ULTRA HD Blu-ray & Blu-ray Disc) (Special Limited Edition), which includes a special booklet and storyboard collection, will be released on May 27th.
"WXIII Mobile Police Patlabor" was released in 2002 as the third animated feature film in the "Mobile Police Patlabor" series. The story follows a "monster" that lands in Tokyo Bay, and Ingram's rise to power.
It was also announced that an audio commentary featuring director Mamoru Oshii and Naoto Takenaka, who plays Shigeki Arakawa, will be added as an audio bonus feature to the "Mobile Police Patlabor 2 the Movie 4K Remaster Collection," which will be released on March 25th.
