The variety show "Tonight's Ban! Sand's Forbidden Duel," in which professionals in their fields compete against each other for pride, will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturday 9:00 p.m.) on January 11th. This is the fourth installment of "Forbidden Duel," and the comedy duo "Sandwichman" will continue to serve as MCs from the previous episode.
On the show, a cheerleader, a Japan Iaido champion, a rickshaw driver, a magician and other people with world-class skills in their respective fields will compete in serious matches using their own experience, inspiration and unwavering confidence as their weapons.
In a showdown between top cheerleading teams, they jump over moving lasers in a "laser jump duel" during the cheerleading highlight "basket toss". In a showdown between Japanese iaido champions, they compete in a "blindfolded presence slash duel" where they are blindfolded and only sense each other's presence in order to slash at each other, creating a thrilling battle that gets the studio in a frenzy. Then, in a showdown between famous rickshaw drivers from Asakusa, they compete for the title of champion in a "rickshaw relay duel".
Furthermore, a forbidden magic trick uncovering showdown between magicians will be held between Japan and Korea. A famous magician from Korea, which has world-class magic skills, will make an emergency visit to Japan. They will show each other magic tricks, and the winner will be the one who can uncover the other person's trick, delivering an "ultra" extreme battle.
From Japan, Akira Fujii, the "hidden powerhouse" of the magic world, SUZY, the "Magic Princess of Naniwa," and Masataka Jimbo, a fantasist of his fingertips and Japan's representative on the FISM ACM2024 stage, will be taking part. From Korea, the "national magician" Lim Hong-jin, Choi Shin-hyuk, the "charismatic figure of Korean magic," and Lee Myung-jun, the "next generation hope," will be rushing to the event.
Studio guests will include Eiji Wentz, Atsuto Uchida, Eiko Kano, Maria Tani, Nae Nano, and Miki Fujimoto.
MC Sandwichman's Date Mikio commented, "The magician showdown was exciting to watch as I saw how much risk it takes for a professional to trick another professional, and whether the professional would see through it, and whether there was a magician who could fool another magician."
Tomizawa Takeshi said, "It's great that they're fighting even though they don't have to (laughs). It's really interesting because they're competing seriously in special events that aren't usually held, and I think that's the highlight of the show! It's been a while since I got so excited!
