With the second season of the TV anime "Shangri-La Frontier," based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), entering its second cour, the climax PV of the "Traveling Wolf, Embrace Ambition" arc was released on YouTube. The video depicts Sanraku and Saiga-0 in a rematch with Lycaon of the Night Attack, and in order to use Saiga-0's trump card against Lycaon of the Night Attack, Sanraku racks his brains to defeat Lycaon and engages in a life-or-death battle. Emuru, Akane Akitsu, and Shikuru also appear, depicting the five of them fighting together, reminiscent of Sanraku's new party.
It was also announced that singer Awich will be in charge of the opening theme (OP) "Frontiers" and band CVLTE will be in charge of the ending theme (ED) "realitYhurts." for the second cour of the second season.
Awich commented, "I deeply sympathized with the worldview of Shangri-La, in which people challenge unknown territory, overcome difficulties and evolve, and was inspired by the story to create 'Frontiers.' Sanraku and the others' attitude of forging ahead without fear of challenges overlaps with my own way of life as an artist. The work is a comic adaptation of a popular light novel on the novel submission site "Shosetsuka ni Naro". The story is about a gamer who loves crappy games, Rakuro Yomuro, who challenges the godly game "Shangri-La Frontier" with 30 million players. The series began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" in July 2020.
The first season of the TV anime aired on the MBS/TBS network in the Sunday 5pm anime slot "Nichigo" from October 2023 to March 2024. The second season has been airing in the same slot since October.
