The interview program "Matsumoto Takahiro/TMG Special Interview Program," which delves into the creative activities of rock unit B'z guitarist Matsumoto Takahiro, will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand from 10pm on December 30th. As part of a four-month consecutive feature by WOWOW focusing on the solo activities of Matsumoto and B'z vocalist Inaba Koshi, Matsumoto's comments that will be spoken in the program were released in advance on December 26th.
This year, Matsumoto announced the restart of his band "TMG" for the first time in 20 years, and famous players such as Jack Blades, Eric Martin, Matt Sorum, and Yukihide "YT" Takiyama gathered under Matsumoto. In addition to releasing a new album "TMG II", the band performed a nationwide tour "TMG LIVE 2024 -Still Dodging The Bullet-" from September to October.
The "Matsumoto Takahiro/TMG Special Interview Program" features interviews with Matsumoto and other TMG members, and delves into the thoughts behind Matsumoto's creative activities and live performances, which have produced numerous masterpieces through a wide range of solo projects and earned him the honor of winning a Grammy Award.
During the program, Matsumoto commented about live performances for him, "They are a place where I grow a lot as a musician. The more live performances I do, the better my skills as a musician become, and ideas start to flow. On the day of a live performance, I always practice the set list from start to finish. I sometimes discover something new even in songs that I've been playing for years, and sometimes I play them differently live than when I recorded them. I'm always thinking that I could improve in some way."
In addition, starting at 7 pm on January 26th next year, a program titled "TMG LIVE 2024 -Still Dodging The Bullet-" will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand, featuring the final performance of TMG's nationwide tour, which was restarted for the first time in 20 years, held at Tokyo Garden Theater (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on October 12th.
