◇The following contains spoilers
Kairi learns that Daichi Hirayama (Shunsuke Daito), who died seven years ago after a boxing match, is Satoru's (Yuki Kura) older brother. Satoru swears at him, saying, "You're the only one living happily and smiling. How can that be forgiven? Remember it for the rest of your life, be hurt for the rest of your life. Never forget, and suffer for the rest of your life. That's what I've been thinking all this time."
Satoru, Kairi's roommate, acknowledged that Kairi, who was previously "just an emotionless piece of trash," had changed over time, and vented his resentment, saying, "Kairi has started to look forward. He feels like he's been forgiven and talks about his dreams. It's weird that you're the only one who's enjoying life and getting it over with."
Meanwhile, Kairi went to visit Hokomi (Nao), who was hospitalized. "I've always wanted to give this to you," he said, as he gave Hokomi a moon necklace. "I hope you'll continue to be by my side and protect me," Kairi said, putting the necklace on Hokomi. He hugged Hokomi and unilaterally told her, "Thank you, Hokko. I'm sorry. I'm off now. Bye-bye Hokko," and left the hospital room, breaking down in tears.
On social media, comments such as "It's too painful. Kairi, please don't go anywhere!", "I can't get the scene of Kairi crying out of my head. It's just too painful. My chest hurts and it's terrible", "I was drawn in by Tamamori Yuta's acting. Saying goodbye to protect the person he loves most is so heartbreaking. I want Kairi to be happy too", "The role of Kairi is a very difficult one, but his acting is so captivating it's amazing", and "Every single one of Kairi's expressions touched me so deeply, it was sad and painful."
