It has been announced that a Gunpla (plastic model) of the protagonist's mobile suit GQuuuuuuX from the latest installment of the popular anime series "Gundam," "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," will be released as "HG 1/144 GQuuuuuuX" from Bandai Spirits' "HG" series on January 17, 2025. The price will be 2,200 yen.
It was also announced that Bandai Spirits' "METAL ROBOT Spirits" series figure "METAL ROBOT Spirits <SIDE MS> GQuuuuuuX" will be released in August 2025. The price is 22,000 yen. From the company's "Figuarts mini" series, figures of characters such as Amate Yuzuriha (Machu), Nyaan, and Shuuji Ito will be released in May 2025. The price is 3,520 yen each.
"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is the first collaboration between Sunrise, which is responsible for the "Gundam" series, and khara, known for the "Evangelion" series, with Kazuya Tsurumaki as director, Yoji Enokido as series composer, and Ikuto Yamashita in charge of mechanical design.
The story revolves around high school girl Amate Yuzuriha (Machu), who lives a peaceful life in a space colony floating in space, but when she meets a war refugee girl named Nyaan, she becomes embroiled in an illegal mobile suit duel competition, a clan battle... The protagonist's mobile suit, GQuuuuuuX, is a mysterious state-of-the-art mobile suit piloted by Machu, and participates in clan battles as part of the Pomeranians' team.
Tomoyo Kurosawa plays Amate Yuzuriha, Yui Ishikawa plays Nyaan, a girl who works as an illegal courier, and Shimba Tsuchiya plays Shuuji Ito, a mysterious boy who appears before Machu and Nyaan.
The TV anime series will be broadcast on Nippon Television, and ahead of the broadcast, a reconstructed version of some episodes, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX -Beginning-, will be screened at 373 theaters nationwide from January 17, 2025.
