The synopsis of the seventh episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea" (Sundays at 9pm), starring actor Kamiki Ryunosuke, which will be broadcast on December 8th, has been released. In the seventh episode... In the present day, Reo (Kamiki, in a dual role) is shocked to hear from Izumi (Miyamoto Nobuko) that she still doesn't know where Teppei (Kamiki) is. In 1964, at the Araki family home on Hashima, Shinpei (Saito Takumi) and Rina (Ikeda Elaiza)'s son turns one year old, and Ippei (Kunimura Jun) and Haru (Nakajima Tomoko) seem especially happy. Furthermore, Kensho (Shimizu Hiroya) and Yuriko (Tsuchiya Tao) are celebrating their first wedding anniversary, and while a happy mood is floating around them, Teppei and Asako (Sugisaki Hana) have also started a secret relationship. One day, while Ippei is working in the mine, a gas explosion causes a fire. Shinpei and Teppei must face the biggest crisis that Hashima has ever faced. A day that will shake their fate begins... and so the story unfolds. The drama is a story of love, friendship, and family spanning 70 years, set on Hashima (Gunkanjima) in Nagasaki Prefecture, which developed through coal mining from the beginning of the Meiji era to the postwar period of high economic growth, and in modern-day Tokyo. It is written by Nogi Akiko, directed by Tsukahara Ayuko, and produced by the team behind the dramas "Unnatural" and "MIU404" (same series) and the film "The Last Mile."
