"Human Gourmetary: Surprisingly Delicious Restaurants" (Chukyo TV/Nippon TV Network, Tuesdays at 7 PM) is a variety show that introduces "surprisingly delicious restaurants" that defy expectations. On March 24th, the show will air a compilation episode to celebrate its 5th anniversary next month.
"Human Gourmet Entry: The Most Delicious Restaurants," which began airing in April 2021, uses the tagline "A collection of delicious restaurants that are fun to eat because they offer such great hospitality" to search for and interview delicious restaurants all over Japan. This time, we will introduce the program's progress from its inception to the present in a timeline format.
The memorable first episode featured "Minmin" in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, famous for its owner, Mama Suzuko, who yells "Stop making a fuss!" if a customer refuses service. Number 2 was "Nozawa-ya," an eel restaurant whose owner, whose catchphrase is "exciting," made a big impact. Number 5 featured "Aji no Isamu," where the reporting staff ended up working part-time. Number 31 was the first broadcast of "GIRO," a French restaurant in Osaka City run by a world-renowned chef.
Number 61 features "Hyakusho Udon" in Miyazaki City, run by the "Yossha Udon shop owner," and Number 62 features "Tsukuji," a sushi restaurant in Noto Town, Ishikawa Prefecture, with many other shops that the show continues to feature in its in-depth coverage. Number 68 features "Kanzashi," a Chinese restaurant in Kofu City, where the owner's lightning-fast cooking surprised viewers. Furthermore, Number 78 includes the show's first overseas report, searching for delicious restaurants in Honolulu, Hawaii.
