The eighth episode of the NHK morning drama "Kumkum Everybody" starring Mone Kamishiraishi, Eri Fukatsu, and Rina Kawaei, which will air in the second half of 2021, was rebroadcast on NHK General TV on November 27th, and the ending drew a lot of attention.
In the eighth episode, sugar is rationed, and Tachibana's confectionery production is also hit hard. Meanwhile, Kinta (Masahiro Komoto) proposes an arranged marriage to Yasuko (Kamishiraishi) with the son of a sugar company. Yasuko is confused by the sudden news. Yasuko's heart is greatly torn between her desire for her family's happiness and her feelings for Minoru (Hokuto Matsumura). Despite Koshizu's (Naomi Nishida) worries, Yasuko leaves a note the next morning and boards the first train with just a small bag... and so it unfolds. Yasuko heads to Osaka to meet Minoru, and they enjoy a brief time together. And as she boarded the train home, Yasuko shed tears alone, while the theme song "Aldebaran" played.
After the title sequence ended and Yasuko arrived in Okayama, Minoru, who was supposed to be in Osaka, greeted her. Yasuko asked in surprise, "Why?", and Minoru gently asked, "Why are you crying? What happened?" The broadcast ended with this scene.
After the broadcast, production manager Reijiro Horinouchi updated his own X. He revealed, "The last scene of this episode was the scene that ranked first in the 'Top 10 Memorable Scenes' ranking," and continued, "By the way, Minoru took the express train that departed later and arrived in Okayama first. I feel something from Yasuko's behavior, and even if it may be a mistake, I feel my heart warm when I think of Minoru trusting his intuition and boarding the train."
On social media, there are many comments such as, "It's my favorite episode of Come Come!", "It makes me cry no matter how many times I watch it," "It feels like I've just finished watching a movie," and "It's such an amazing episode. The legendary train episode. It makes me cry no matter how many times I watch it."
