It has been announced that, as a gift to moviegoers of " Scarlet, " the latest animated film from director Mamoru Hosoda, known for such works as "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and "Summer Summer Wars ," miniature illustrations of heroines from his own works will be distributed starting December 13th. Seven designs will be distributed randomly: Makoto from "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," Natsuki-senpai from "Summer Summer Wars," Yuki from "The Boy and the Beast," Kaede from "The Boy and the Beast," Mirai-chan from "Mirai," Belle from "The Dragon and the Freckled Princess," and Scarlet from "Scarlet." Starting December 13th, the film will be screened in Dolby Cinema, MX4D, 4DX, SCREENX, and ULTRA 4DX.
Director Hosoda said that during the production of "Scarlet" this summer, "I've been able to continue taking on new challenges like this thanks to the many people who have supported me up until now," and so he prepared by carefully drawing illustrations of the seven heroines on colored paper to bring some joy to his fans. Colored paper using these illustrations will be distributed as a gift to moviegoers.
Toho's official YouTube channel has released a special video featuring the cast, including Mana Ashida, who plays the main character Scarlett, Masaki Okada, who plays Hijiri, and Koji Yakusho, who plays the nemesis Claudius.
The latest film tells the story of Scarlett, whose father was killed and whose revenge failed, who once again seeks revenge on her nemesis in the Land of the Dead. The Land of the Dead is a place where if one does not achieve revenge on their nemesis and reach the "endless place", they will become nothing and their existence will disappear, and Scarlett embarks on an endless journey of revenge. Actor Ashida plays the main character, Scarlett, and Okada plays Hijiri, a modern-day Japanese nurse who travels with Scarlett. The film was released on November 21st.
